Specifics of Pagano’s diagnosis

Colts Authority Daily Links 10/01/12

The Indianapolis Star and Phil B Wilson have some more info on the specifics of Coach Chuck Pagano's diagnosis, now that the Colts' press conference is wrapping up:

The Star first reported the illness and that Pagano would likely miss several games while being treated for acute promyelocytic leukemia. According to the American Cancer Society website, "early diagnosis and treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) … is important because patients with APL may develop serious blood-clotting or bleeding problems. … Treatment induces remission in 80 to 90 percent of patients."

The first link will take you to the latest update, post press conference, from Indystar.com.  The second link, inside the indented quote, will take you to some more information about APL from NIH.gov and the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

In the meantime, as we hope for Chuck Pagano's speedy recovery, here, once again, is his awesome motivational speech from YouTube.  If Pagano can inspire his players in that manner, during a practice no less, imagine the type of drive and determination he possesses within.  Here's hoping for Pagano's expeditious recovery, for him, his family, and his Colts family.
