Simmons: It wasn’t so bad

Epic Patriots homer and Grantland writer Bill Simmons should have had a bad time in Indianapolis. A week in the home of the dreaded Colts topped off with a second Super Bowl loss to Eli Manning should have crushed him. Maybe we’re all getting older and a touch less testy or just maybe Bill found a little Hoosier magic made the trip worthwhile:

Here’s the point: Whenever I think about Super Bowl XLVI, I’m always going to think to myself, That day wasn’t a total catastrophe … that’s the same day we went to theHoosiers gym! Which made it a brilliant play. I’m adding the “Good Karma Game Day Swerve” to my arsenal for any monstrously important Boston sporting event. It made yesterday 10 percent more bearable.

About Todd Smith

Todd Smith is a part-time sportswriter who spends too much time arguing on Twitter. What he really loves is eating poorly and watching football. He got his first Colts t-shirt in 1984 shortly after the Mayflower trucks arrived and has never given up on his hometown team. He also still holds to the belief that Kordell Stewart stepped out of the end zone and thus cheated the Colts.
