In the Colts loss against the Ravens there were a lot of things that went wrong. The offensive line, Cassius Vaughn, Donnie Avery and Cassius Vaughn again.
Fortunately, not all was bad. Andrew Luck didn't disappoint and was actually impressive, doing everything in his power to give the Colts plenty of chances. His numbers were not spectacular and more than one "expert" will say he got overwhelmed by a tough defense. For those of us actually watching the game, he did a great job. Those who played against him might agree:
“He’s amazing. He was keeping plays alive,” cornerback Corey Graham said. “He looked like Big Ben [Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers] in there. He was keeping a lot of plays alive by throwing it short and running the ball. He was creating a lot of problems for us. Fortunately, we were able to contain him a little bit and make some plays when they really counted.”
Unfortunately, Luck didn't get a lot of help from the team when it really counted last Sunday.
From the Ravens, Graham wasn't the only one to praise Luck. Suggs also had a message for Luck.
In his very first year Luck has earned the respect of his opponents and is already seen as a tough QB to play against. And that was with a very young and inexperienced offense with lots of issues.
One can only imagine what this offense might look like with a decent offensive line and reliable WRs.
