Like most of us Phillip B. Wilson is doing his homework on new Colts head coach Chuck Pagano. His research has turned up a few notes:
So far, so good, Colts fans. I’ve spoken to several people close to Pagano, family members, those who know him in NFL circles, and even a former player in Baltimore. I’ll unload that in an in-depth feature later on.
What I can tell you, in terms of a first impression, is this guy is intense. He’s a defensive coach, sure, but the Ravens players rave about him. They speak of a man who instilled confidence in them, a guy they gave everything for, a coach they hated to let down. This is true of defensive backs — he coached the Ravens secondary before landing the defensive coordinator job for 2011 — as well as linebackers.
