Mike & Mike: Wells and Chappell to Split Colts Coverage

I'll be honest: don't go to this link if you're interested in a peaceful Friday morning/afternoon. Brad Wells's coverage on ex-Pacer writer Mike Wells is heated, but holds merit; I say ex-Pacer, because after thirteen years covering Indy's finally-rebounding NBA team, Wells (Mike) is going to be joining Mike Chappell as a beat reporter for the Colts.

We're now six days removed from Wells' radio announcement, and the Star still hasn't officially posted anything noting the change in both Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts coverage. It's a decision that has rubbed more than a few local people the wrong way. Wells had covered Pacers basketball since 2000.

The main reason for the shift is – apparently – to put more emphasis on the Colts, because as B. Wells points out, the NFL sells. This is good news for Colts fans, especially because other reports indicate that the rest of the team is staying on as well. Pacers fans, meanwhile, are on the verge of losing players (Granger and Hansbrough), reporters, and momentum.
For a slightly toned-down article, Tom Lewis covers things from the Pacer's side.
