Luck wants to start

Andrew Luck is a smart kid. He’s saying all the right things before the draft and more importantly, not saying the wrong things. He wants to start and loves Peyton Manning:

Luck meanwhile says that it would be an honour to play with a legend of the calibre of Peyton Manning and to learn from such a big NFL great would be a tremendous opportunity.

“I think to have an opportunity to play with a guy like Peyton Manning would be great,” he said.

It remains to be seen what Indianapolis decides. With a new coach and general manager in the front office the Colts could decide to go for a complete makeover by releasing Manning and going with Luck or they could keep both and let them fight it out to start games.

About Todd Smith

Todd Smith is a part-time sportswriter who spends too much time arguing on Twitter. What he really loves is eating poorly and watching football. He got his first Colts t-shirt in 1984 shortly after the Mayflower trucks arrived and has never given up on his hometown team. He also still holds to the belief that Kordell Stewart stepped out of the end zone and thus cheated the Colts.
