The Colts have been struggling to get healthy since week one, and received more bad news this week. To bring everyone up to date:
Fili Moala and Josh Chapman have been moved to the IR. I've always liked Moala for having a name straight out of Middle Earth, and Chapman's one of the few draft picks that hasn't made a real splash this year (the Colts's first 7 picks: Luck, Fleener, Allen, Hilton, Chapman, Ballard, Brazill). In response, the Colts have signed Kellen Heard, a third year DT.
According to colts.com, Robert Mathis and Tom Zbikowski have yet to practice this week. Mathis looks to be fine, but Zibi's dealing with a knee injury that may keep him out Sunday. This, because the Colts don't have enough injuries on their defense. On a lighter note, Fleener, Luck, Brown, Davis, and safety Joe Lefeged all contributed to full practices this week, and all should be ready to go Sunday.
Some familiar names are dotting Detroit's injury report this week: Jacob Lacey and Kyle Vanden Bosch both hail from the AFC South, the former having provided what-are-you-doing coverage for the Colts for three years. Anyway, Lacey will probably be out against the Colts's offense (go long! Really!), while both Megatron and Leshoure were cleared to practice earlier in the week. Point is, Indy won't be getting an advantage here.
Same story: more players to the IR, another signing, Mathis or Freeney maybe being out, and not a lot of problems on the other side of the ball.
