Griffin would like to learn from Manning

Robert Griffin III charmed and impressed the media during his press conference yesterday. He may have won a few fans in Indianapolis with his comments regarding Peyton Manning:

“I’ve talked to Peyton a few times. It’d be amazing for him to play out his career here — and to play behind him. . . . It would be an honor to sit back and learn. I’d hold that clipboard with pride.”

Peyton Manning’s future with the Colts is currently unresolved and more than a few fans are holding out hope that the future Hall of Famer finishes his career in Indianapolis. While it’s unlikely that scenario plays out, both Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin have now expressed willingness to work in that environment.

About Todd Smith

Todd Smith is a part-time sportswriter who spends too much time arguing on Twitter. What he really loves is eating poorly and watching football. He got his first Colts t-shirt in 1984 shortly after the Mayflower trucks arrived and has never given up on his hometown team. He also still holds to the belief that Kordell Stewart stepped out of the end zone and thus cheated the Colts.
