Fantasy Outlook: Vick Ballard

With most people either wishing they had Andrew Luck – or laughing maniacally from the kitchen because they can't stop rubbing it in – fantasy football and Indianapolis haven't really gone well together over the last two years. With that about to change, fingers crossed, Sayre Bedinger has Vick Ballard's fantasy outlook ready to go. Spoiler: Bradshaw's arrival doesn't help.

The former fifth round pick out of Mississippi State should be second in line for carries this year behind Ahmad Bradshaw, and unless Bradshaw is injured, I fully expect Ballard’s numbers to take a significant dip in 2013. I could see him getting about 10-12 carries per game, but not a lot more than that. The Colts have quite a few guys who can contribute at RB, but Bradshaw is the most experienced and most talented. If Ballard is to have much fantasy upside this year, it could potentially be as a goal line back.

Unless there's an injury early on, I can't see Ballard or Bradshaw being as good as they can be, no more than I can see Andrew Luck changing hands any time soon in my fantasy league. Sigh …
