Colts players uncertain

Mike Chappell writes that Colts players aren’t getting much news from West 56th. They’re getting the breaking news from ESPN, the paper, the Internet which leaves them wondering about their futures:

Every Colts player should be on notice.

“No one knows what to expect,” running back Joseph Addai said. “You know what you can do and how you fit in, but (the new coach) doesn’t know what you can do and how you fit in.”

As the weeks unfold, Wayne wonders whether he’ll be viewed as a possible asset or a soon-to-be-former Colt. He ranks second in club history in virtually every receiving category but is 33 and one of those whose contract expires in March.

“Even if you’re rebuilding, you still are going to need some of the old heads around,” Wayne said. “There are going to be guys from the old team on the new team. Do I think I can play on this team? I do.

About Todd Smith

Todd Smith is a part-time sportswriter who spends too much time arguing on Twitter. What he really loves is eating poorly and watching football. He got his first Colts t-shirt in 1984 shortly after the Mayflower trucks arrived and has never given up on his hometown team. He also still holds to the belief that Kordell Stewart stepped out of the end zone and thus cheated the Colts.
