Michael Marot of the Associated Press' Pro32.ap.org reports on the extent of the changes that have occurred within the Colts organization since last season and the accompanying air of optimism. There are quotes from Robert Mathis, Clyde Christensen, Jerraud Powers, and Antoine Bethea. He also included some interesting little things that you might not find in a game week article:
Irsay remodeled the locker room while the team was at training camp. Pagano revamped the strength-training regimen and even altered the formerly fat-free Saturday night menu to include pepperoni pizza and a Sunday bar, a stark contrast from fat-free diets.
The results all around have been encouraging.
Perhaps the removal of fat-free Saturdays is another way of helping them get bigger along the defensive front, turning undersized cover 2 tackles into mammoth, run-stopping nose tackles, one pizza at a time (insert cricket sound effect for bad joke here). I'm sure it's really just another way to create a positive atmosphere at the Colts complex.
