Chappell: Tressel unlikely

Earlier this season there was a theory that Jim Tressel was sitting up in the booth waiting for an opening on the sideline.  That said, Mike Chappell thinks the possibility of Tressel taking over for Caldwell is pretty unlikely:

ANSWER: Every coach’s job is uncertain, starting with Jim Caldwell and including Tressel. Not much that goes on in the NFL shocks me anymore, but I would be absolutely floored if the Colts got rid of Caldwell and replaced him with Tressel. Absolutely floored. If Caldwell is retained, there’s a chance Tressel returns in the same role as before (replay consultant). If general manager Ryan Grigson decides to bring in his own people, all bets are off.

Todd Smith is a part-time sportswriter who spends too much time arguing on Twitter. What he really loves is eating poorly and watching football. He got his first Colts t-shirt in 1984 shortly after the Mayflower trucks arrived and has never given up on his hometown team. He also still holds to the belief that Kordell Stewart stepped out of the end zone and thus cheated the Colts.
