Week 15 – TEN @ IND: Game Day Open Thread

QB Peyton Manning –  Manning has been getting some good news lately, but still not ready to take the field.  (Neck)

TE Dallas Clark –  Clark suffered a stinger and had to be replaced by Jacob Tamme on the Colt’s final drive last week.  He will be out this week as a result (Neck)

OT Quinn Ojinnaka –  Ojinnaka was a full participant in practice, but with Diem and Reitz both being healthy a 3rd backup OT is unnecessary (Coaches’ Decision)

CB Mike Holmes –  Holmes is the 5th CB on the depth chart, but will not be active this week (Coaches’ Decision)

SLB Phillip Wheeler –  Wheeler had to be carted into the locker room last week, and did not practice all week.  (Foot)

MLB A.J. Edds –  A.J. Edds still has not passed concussion tests and will be inactive (Concussion)

DE Jamaal Anderson – Anderson is sitting with a groin injury today.  Expect DE Jerry Hughes to get backup reps with Brayton at 3-tech DT and Addison at RDE (Groin)

*  Per Mike Chappell,  the Colts will be starting Ernie Sims at Strong Side Linebacker in place of the injured Phillip Wheeler.  Sims tends to be more suited to Weak Side, but with all normal Strong Side options incapacitated, Sims got the call over new acquired MLB Bentley.

*  Jacob Tamme will be the starting TE this week in place of Dallas Clark.  Brody Eldridge is the starting Half-Back, but expect Anthony Hill to continue to get work.

*  Despite being healthy and all indications pointing to his return, the Colts are once again starting Mike Pollak at Left Guard over Joe Reitz.  Phil B. Wilson of Indy Star does not have an explanation for this, but the trend in recent weeks has almost been a pre-season like atmosphere with numerous lower depth chart guys seeing some action on the field.  This may be an indication of an evaluation process taking place.  If that is so it could mean the Colts are still not sold on Pollak at this point.  The other option is that Reitz has fallen out of favor with the Coaches, a la Gonzalez, Hughes, Carter, and others.  Given how well Reitz was performing, I’m hoping the first option is whats really happening.

*  Jim Irsay also has announced the roof will be closed for today’s game.
