Colts Power Rankings: 2011, Week 8

Each week, Coltzilla will scour the net for team rankings from football experts covering the previous week, and discuss them from the fan’s perspective.

Average Ranking: 31.88 (previously 31.38) – Another loss, another drop in the rankings. At least, it can’t get much worse.

CBS Sports – Pete Prisco – 32nd (no change): Curtis Painter was terrible against the Titans and the defense isn’t getting any pressure. The No. 1 pick is looking like it will be theirs.

ESPN – Kuharsky – 32nd (no change): The effort is actually pretty good, which means the roster is pretty bad. (Kuharsky)

Fox Sports – 32nd (no change): It is a fair question at this point. Do the Colts draft Andrew Luck with the first overall selection in the 2012 NFL draft?

WEEI in Boston – 32nd (no change): A winless season looks like a serious possibility for Indy. The Colts stagger into each week looking like a team that has no business being on the field.

Pro Football Talk – 31st (-1): Andrew Luck is the perfect quarterback for a team with a horseshoe on its helmet.

Sports Illustrated – Don Banks – 32nd (no change): With five Indy home games remaining, I can still see the Colts winning a couple times before they’re put out of their misery. But the irony of these Colts going for perfection in reverse, after the controversy that Indy created by not chasing 16-0 in 2009, is almost too rich to believe.

Walter Football – 32nd (-2): Anyone else think the Colts should fire Jim Caldwell and bring in Taton? He at least shows some damn emotion, and I’m willing to bet Taton never would have bothered with Kerry Collins. Plus, the press conferences would be awesome, because after a loss, he would just yell, “That is sux!” over and over.

Yahoo Sports – 32nd (-1): Look for the Colts to be on the clock (with Andrew Luck on the board) when the draft kicks off in April.
