Colts Power Rankings: 2011, Week 15

Each week, Coltzilla will scour the net for team rankings from football experts covering the previous week, and discuss them from the fan’s perspective.

Average Ranking: 31.85 (previously 32.00) So long-time Colts hater Don Banks has upgraded Indy from 32nd to 31st. I guess there really is a Santa Claus. CBS Sports – Pete Prisco – 32nd (no change): They won’t go winless, but this season is still a disaster. Did the one victory save Jim Caldwell’s job? Probably not. [] ESPN – 32nd (no change): Their defense was effective and opportunistic in a win over the Titans, and Donald Brown provided the necessary offense. (Kuharsky) [] Fox Sports – 32nd (no change): People ask me all the time if teams ever intentionally ever try to lose to secure the first pick of the draft. No, as evidenced by the Colts on Sunday. [] WEEI in Boston – 32nd (no change): The players and coaches are relieved they finally put a W in the win column, but now the Colts’ chances of getting the No. 1 pick in the 2012 draft are in jeopardy. Indy has games against the Texans and Jaguars remaining. The Jaguars game is a very winnable matchup. Meanwhile, the Rams play the Steelers and 49ers. [] Pro Football Talk – 32nd (no change): For the same reason that one loss didn’t knock the Packers out of the penthouse, one win won’t be enough to elevate the Colts from the outhouse. [] Sports Illustrated – Don Banks – 31st (+1): It’s the holidays, so in the spirit of giving I’m moving the Colts out of cellar for the first time in months after their big first victory last week against Tennessee. The Colts defense showed up against the Titans, and they’ll get another test Thursday night against the first-place Texans. Dare we predict an upset is not out of the question? [I'm not buying it, Banks. We all know you hate everything Colts. Predict a win if you want, but my prediction is that you moved them up just so you can move them down again next week. Merry fricking Christmas.] Walter Football – 32nd (no change): [Whatever... not worth discussing.] Yahoo Sports – ?: [The yahoos at Yahoo haven't updated their rankings.]
