The National Football Post reported on Monday that Temple safety Jaiquawn Jarrett has a busy team visit schedule before the 2011 NFL Draft. In the piece, Aaron Wilson also indicates that Indianapolis is high on Jarrett, specifically for his aggressiveness and tackling ability.
Throughout much of the draft discussions for a possible Colts safety thus far, many fans have been stuck with Nebraska’s Quinton Carter and Iowa’s Tyler Sash as the premier options. With Jarrett available in the middle rounds, do not be too surprised or upset if the Colts pass on the more popular safety prospects for another player that fans should become more familiar with.
While he did not put up a fast Combine 40-yard dash time, clocking in at 4.61, and would not be a big asset in the passing game, take a look at his tape and you can see why the Colts would be interested. He should look familiar to a couple of other strong safeties the Colts have had, at least in style.
