Rounding out the mini-camp roster predictions with the special teams players are kicker Adam Vinatieri, punter Pat McAfee, and long snapper Justin Snow. Not in this group is Brandon James, though he would be a fast track practice squad player if he could clear waivers.
The two key story lines for the Colts this season with special teams players will be the continued development of star rookie punter Pat McAfee. Last year McAfee had an impressive rookie season and showed a huge leg. It is likely that he will continue to be in charge of kickoffs and punts again this season.
His kicking counterpart is veteran Adam Vinatieri who has experienced health issues over the last three or four years that have limited his effectiveness, strength, and accuracy at different times. Early reports indicate that Vinatieri has fully returned to health but it will be interesting to see if he can maintain throughout the year.
