Peyton Manning Not Medically Cleared to Resume NFL Career

What is more fun than having two stories in a row with opposite titles? Answer: NOTHING.

Colts Owner Jim Irsay wanted to be sure that Colts Nation knew that legendary quarterback Peyton Manning — despite reports from his doctors suggesting that he is ready to take the field on Sunday — has not passed a physical with the team and is not cleared to play football for the Indianapolis Colts.

From Irsay:

Peyton has not passed our physical nor has he been cleared to play for The Indianapolis Colts. Team statement coming on Friday.

We look forward to following the story as it develops and will report on the offical statement. We hope that our readers have enjoyed the roller coaster as much us. For those playing the home game, Colts Authority highly suggests that until a formal move is made to retain or cut Peyton Manning, and until Manning takes the field in 2012 or beyond, try to ignore all of the contradictory news that will hit the media, blogs, and Tweeterville.

*Except, of course, that which is printed here. Please continue to come to for all major updates regarding the most prized player in Indianapolis Colts history. Thank you, The Management.

PS: Until definitive news hits the surface otherwise, Manning is not yet ready to take the field and throw passes on at a competitive level. There is no greater wish for the entire staff at Colts Authority than for this to be true and when that news becomes available, our readers can be assured that we will share it.
