The Colts have continued to make low profile moves this offseason, taking advantage of their number one priority on the waiver wire. Last Friday, the Colts announced the claiming of offensive guard Zane Taylor, who was recently waived by the Eagles.
Taylor spent a month and a half on the Eagles practice squad last season, after spending time in the Jets camp and the Buccaneers’ practice squad. Colts’ GM Ryan Grigson no doubt has some connection to Taylor due to his time in Philadelphia, and Taylor joins Winston Justice and Mike McGlynn as offensive linemen who have gotten signed by the Colts due to Grigson’s previous work with them.
To make room for Taylor, the Colts waived OG Matt Murphy, who spent nearly all of last season on the Colts’ practice squad.
The Colts also announced the signing draft pick Justin Anderson last week, officially now having all of their 6th and 7th round picks signed. Only Josh Chapman, who was rumored to be signed, is left unsigned for the Colts’ late round picks. Andrew Luck (1st round), Coby Fleener (2nd), Dwayne Allen (3rd), and T.Y. Hilton (3rd) are all still unsigned.
