The Colts are savoring yesterday’s victory. Perhaps the newest members of the team are enjoying it a bit more than the veterans:
Now, Victory Monday has been replaced by Reminiscing Monday. Players have not been practicing the day after their latest loss but are at the team’s West 56th Street complex for meetings and general locker room interaction.
Often the topic of conversation among several of the winless Colts — they are just the sixth team in NFL history to open a season with 13 consecutive losses — focuses on something other than their most recent NFL experience.
“I am totally aware of that,” said wide receiver Reggie Wayne, an 11-year veteran. “That’s what stings me the most. These young guys haven’t come in on a Monday or a Tuesday being victorious.
