Texans and a coin could decide the draft…only not

NFL.com reports that the Texans game could be a pivotal game in the race for the first overall pick:

If the Colts lose to the 10-4 Texans in Thursday night’s NFL Network game, the lowest they can pick in the 2012 NFL Draft is second overall, and that would be based upon losing a coin toss for the No. 1 selection. The coin toss would be between the Colts and Vikings.

The problem is that this is completely untrue. The tie break is strength of schedule, and Indy clinched it.

Todd Smith is a part-time sportswriter who spends too much time arguing on Twitter. What he really loves is eating poorly and watching football. He got his first Colts t-shirt in 1984 shortly after the Mayflower trucks arrived and has never given up on his hometown team. He also still holds to the belief that Kordell Stewart stepped out of the end zone and thus cheated the Colts.
