O-line just below average

The delicate relationship between a quarterback and his offensive line takes time to cultivate.  The Colts offensive line has battled injury and the adjustment to three different quarterbacks, none of whom have been great at escaping the pass rush or dealing with turnovers.  Despite standing upon changing sands they manage to come in at #19 in the Pro Football Focus rankings:

Led by Jeff Saturday this line hasn’t performed as badly as we’ve come to expect. Granted the majority of players are still graded negatively, with their run blocking quite atrocious at times, but they’ve not given up as much pressure as you probably expected them to once you realized Peyton Manning was injured.

About Todd Smith

Todd Smith is a part-time sportswriter who spends too much time arguing on Twitter. What he really loves is eating poorly and watching football. He got his first Colts t-shirt in 1984 shortly after the Mayflower trucks arrived and has never given up on his hometown team. He also still holds to the belief that Kordell Stewart stepped out of the end zone and thus cheated the Colts.
